More than 25 Florida judges were volunteers at the USAG National
Championships
The Gemstone program is designed to recognize judges
in Florida who exceed minimal professional development standards and contribute to the organizational
development of NAWGJ. Florida judges earn points for activities performed over and above those required to
fulfill their CPE card. Points will be cumulative, i.e., they will carry forward from
one year to the next. Each judge will be responsible for completing the Gemstone Award form and
sending it to the SJD along with a copy of the CPE summary (2007). The Gemstone pins
will be awarded at the 2008 Judges Cup for points earned in 2007. Each pin carries a different "gem" corresponding to the number of points the judge has accumulated. Points accumulate from year to year. The SJD maintains a spreadsheet to track your submissions so you will be given the appropriate award each year at Judge's Cup.
