Judges for a meet may be contracted through NAWGJ by using the following procedures:
- Print a copy of the 2011-12 Judge Request Form ( This is a word document that can be filled out and e-mailed but the user needs to be in edit mode in order to be able to fill in the blanks.)
- Complete all information on the form and send it to the State Judging Director. Include a check for $3.00 per judge to cover the costs of assigning judges. Make check payable to FL-NAWGJ.
- If the request is received less than 45 days prior to the competition, the fee is $10.00 for each official contracted. However, judges in Florida are contracted several months in advance and there is little chance that judges can be located on short notice. Requests for judges will not be processed if received within 21 days of the meet.
- Mail form and check to:

Requests for Fall Compulsory meets are accepted beginning April 1 of the same calendar year of the meet. Requests will be accepted by mail only and will be processed in the order received based on the postmark date. The postmark date may not be earlier than April 1.
Requests for the Spring Optional Invitational meets will be accepted beginning January 1 of the preceding year, i.e., judges requested for meets scheduled for January 2010 may be added to the Assigning Schedule as early as January 1, 2009.
Meets are added to the Assigning Schedule and judges are assigned to meets in the order the Request for Judges Form and assigning fees are received and ALL information requested on the form is provided. Depending on the size and the location of meets, Florida NAWGJ is usually able to assign judges for four compulsory meets on any given weekend during the fall season and three optional meets on any given weekend during the spring season. If a very large meet is scheduled or if more than one meet is scheduled in the same geographic area (north, central, or south Florida), the number of meets that can be assigned is reduced because judges may not be available.
Once a meet has been added to the schedule, the date of the meet may not be changed without first contacting the SJD to determine if the new date is available for assignment of judges. If the date is changed, the meet will be added to the Assigning Schedule based on the date of notification of the schedule change and judges will be assigned accordingly.
If there are not enough judges in Florida available on a given weekend, NAWGJ will attempt to locate out-of-state judges if the Meet Director wishes to pay the additional travel costs involved. The necessity to contract out-of-state judges will be based on the order of the receipt of the Request for Judges form and the assigning fee, i.e., the last meet requested will be the meet that will be assigned out of state judges. The SJD and/or assigner will contact the Meet Director prior to assigning out-of-state judges.
Specific judges, including judges from other states, may be requested on the form. NAWGJ will attempt to assign requested judges to the meet if possible and reasonable based on other meets being conducted on a given weekend.
No meets are scheduled on the weekend of Judges Cup in the fall. This meet is the annual fundraiser for NAWGJ and all NAWGJ members are needed to volunteer their time for the event.
If any conditions on the judges contract are altered, it is the responsibility of the Meet Director to contact the Assigner and provide the new information. Additional days or sessions are considered "non-contractual" and could result in the judge voiding the contract. Additional assigning fees of $1.00 per judge may be charged by the Assigner if called upon to notify judges of any change.
